The Okidata B6500dtn printer is a strong contender for the workhorse title when it comes to high workload organizations. It is a plain paper printer and copier with a 533 MHz processor clock speed. It has an out-of-the box features memory of 128 MB. The printer can operate on battery or AC 120 volt. The printer features a liquid crystal display. It uses B6500dtn Printer Cartridge.

General Specifications of the Okidata

The size and shape of the Okidata printer at 16.6 inches x 18.3 inches x 15.9 inches is an excellent configuration for placement on a counter, table or desk. The size makes it easy to reach the controls and manage both input and output documents with working space around the printer. No stretching or stooping to cause physical discomfort or result in misread instructions when operating the printer.

Networking and Connections

Network interfaces and connectivity are versatile. Connections this wired networks, Ethernet interfaces or Fast Ethernet interfaces are all equally available. Networking makes high-volume productivity on the printer, thanks to access for more than one work station. The printer is also versatile in the operating systems that can be used. Unix, Linux, Mac and Windows are all available in the network design.

Usage Limits

The Okidata printer unit can easily manage a work load of 10,000 copies per work day, well beyond the needs of most small and even mid-size companies. That is a total of 200,000 documents per month. The documents can include most types of duplicating requirements, including correspondence, financial reports, databases, graphs and schedules.

Speed of Operations

At top speeds, the printer can spew out up to forty-five pages per minute. The first page arrives in less than eight seconds. Lower printing time means workers will spend less time doing nothing because the copy has not yet come from the printer. Additional time savings result from few user interfaces.

Clarity

Precise images that are even and sharp are as important as the speed of output. The resolution rate of the Okidata Printer Toner is a high-quality of 1,200 by 1,200 dpi. Printer fonts included as the standard equipment provide the ability to produce bitmap and scalable fonts, as well as Interleaved, 5 bar, Code 128 and USPS-ZIP fonts.

Managing the Document Feed and Capture

The Okidata printer holds a total of 700 sheets in its standard design. Two more trays, capable of holding different types of document media, brings the top capacity to a full 1,800 pages. The output tray will hold 500 face-down sheets and 700 face-up sheets. An optional tray allows for easy sorting of documents.

Media Size

Various sizes of documents can be handled equally efficiently. A baker's dozen differently sized documents can be handled in standard mode. A custom-size configuration will handle a 3-inch by 5-inch card or a folio-sized document measuring 8.5 inches by 35.4 inches.

Measuring Printer Cost

The Okidata unit increases efficiency in several ways. Because output is faster, less time is required to complete the processing of an image. Less employee time is spent on programming specifications to get the right look. Because the copier copies on both sides of the paper, fewer supplies are required to get the same output. The durability of the equipment is another way to reduce overall operating costs.

The standard configuration of the Okidata B6500dtn Toner Cartridge provides a high level of printing production. If necessary, upgrade options are available to increase functionality. RAM memory can be improved to a total of 640 MB. A flash drive or 60 GB hard drive will support additional features including Secure Print, Proof & Print and Delayed Print.
