Why do we keep buying Ipods?

By Jim Solista

Why does the apple iPod draw such an immense devotion that borders on love from its followers? Why do users feel compelled to upgrade to the latest model as soon as it hits the shelves?

In fact, the iPod has established itself so well in the minds of the public that very few people actually know that it is possible to buy an mp3 player which is not an iPod. Check out the following characteristics of the iPod to see what made it the "most wanted product" of the decade:

When the iPod hit the stores for the first time, it was the only player which was capable of storing over 2 GB worth of music.

The smooth design and large stylish LCD screen was unlike any other. The competitors at the time were clunky and somewhat nerdy.

Lots of sports people including joggers found the flash based players, like the Nano, very convenient and easy to carry around. Also, there was no drawback of "skipping" as was the case with hard-disk mp3 players.

Itunes was a big success for Apple as it allowed people to acquire songs at realistic prices in a safe and legal environment.

When the iPod made its debut into the market, it was the only device were you could "conveniently" carry around large sets of songs. The device was suited to party goers and DJs in a big way!

The screen of the device is so painless to use. The scroll wheel allows you to find an individual song in seconds from a range of thousands.

Apple keep expanding what the device can do. It has changed from a modest mp3 player to a phone and even video player.

You're also able to download applications to further enhance your device from online games to tax assistance software.

The iPod's sound quality is unparalleled by anything else existing on the market - particularly the bass.

There are some outstanding speakers you can plug into the player now. You can even plug it into surround sound with the correct set.

The iPod has an exceptional battery life the Nano in particular has a battery life in excess of 9 hours.

Express yourself with funky covers for your iPod! You can even get posh with fur covers to really stand out from the masses.

Apple give updates to the software on the player and also itunes far more frequently than rival manufacturers.

The player is more resilient than many other mp3 players and will survive drops and falls much better.

Hopefully you now know that there's lots of stuff to love about this excellent Californian music player. Im hoping that Apple will be pulling off more cool tricks with iPod for years to come!
