The days of awkward and over-sized desktops may possibly be coming to an end. Many people are finding that their current PC just isn't working for them anymore. It isn't meeting their needs and has become more cumbersome than necessary.

For instance, many corporations in this day and age are looking to downsize their desktops to allow for a less cumbersome and overall more efficient work experience not only for themselves but for their employees as well. In fact, if certain global tech companies were able to have their way, than desktops would quite possibly just dissappear altogether.

To me that answer is obvious. Yes... we should totally upgrade our desktops to more convenient laptops. In the past (from a financial stand point) it just didn't make good economic sense. They were expensive and (for the most part) did not perform nearly as well as your traditional PC.

Now though, laptops are becoming more affordable and coming with much better options. Without naming any major brand, there are some out there that are selling for under 500 dollars. And you can find them at numerous big name retail locations. If that still seems too steep, there are also refurbished ones that are offered by many companies.

For many of these businesses, they believe that downsizing their current desktops to these Internet based servers would not only be time efficient but also make better economic sense.

Not to mention, that clunky hard drive tower that always seems to take up more space than it should need to. If you opt for a laptop, you don't have to mess with all of this. Everything is self-contained and is easily tucked out of sight when not in use.

So you have made the ultimate decision... you are going to go ahead and downsize that old beastly desktop that takes up your entire home office and purchase a new smaller, more versatile laptop. What do you do now? That is a simple answer. You are going to do your research.

But with a laptop, if you decide you want to do your report at the nearest cafe... all you have to do is slip it into your bag and off you go. Plus, it's wonderful for taking on long car trips to keep the kids occupied with a movie or game.
